History

  • Developed in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine for home gardeners. Available from Russian and Ukrainian CVs.
  • The name means ‘Marinka’s Tongue’, where 'Marinka' is derived from female's first name Marina. Apparently the pepper pod shape resembles a human tongue, hence the name.
  • Introduced commercially in North America by Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds in 2015.

Russian name:

The name means ‘Marinka’s Tongue’, where 'Marinka' is derived from female's first name Marina. Apparently the pepper pod shape resembles a human tongue, hence the name.
