History

  • Stabilized Kornesevsije cross from Mark Korney, Buffalo, who said:
"Korney's Cross started out as a red very productive smaller tomato, between the size of Jaune Flammee and a tennis ball, usually shaped like an apple. Clusters were usually in fanned out bunches of 5 through 7 fruits (or more.)
Starting around F5, they finally showed the black color of one of the parents. "
  • Sand Hill Preservation Center 2010 catalog says "Color is deep purplish-red to almost black... Please be aware that there still may be some variability in size and shape on this variety."
  • So there are at least two variants available - red and black fruited.
