History
- First introduced in the Seed Savers 2011 Yearbook by Carolyn Male of Salem, New York (NY MA C).
- Dr. Carolyn Male received her seed from John Jones of Washington who got them from his wife's grandmother who got them from her mother, to whom Jean Sartan had given seeds. Jean used to win contests with this variety at church fall festivals, thus the name.
