- Brought from Italy in the 1920s-1940s by a SSE member, Jerome Nykiel, NY (NY NY J).
- There is another tomato with the same name but pale yellow color, offered by TomatoFest . It is not clear if the two varieties are related. See Italian Giant Beefsteak.
