B.C KO T

Det. plants with regular foliage, red round oblate fruits 3" in diameter, jointless tomato (as it should be), very good to excellent rich balanced taste, both acidic than sweet.
2011 notes
the second plant was not jointless, and it was indet. rather than determinate, so I discarded it as I believe the true Hayslip would be jointless and determinate.

Seed source:

Andrea Saylor, Tennessee 07

Year grown: 2011

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Goes back to at least SSE 1986 Yearbook, listed by WI EA T as a small/medium jointless tomato. It is described as a determinate tomato in the 1992-1999 SSE Yearbooks, but then listed as indeterminate in 2000 by Chuck Wyatt (which I believe is incorrect). Tomato Growers Supply also listed it as determinate in 1998.
  • SSE TOMATO 967. (Tatiana's note: I doubt that SSE has a correct Hayslip, based on their description provided in the 2005 Yearbook.)
