70-80 days, indet., regular leaf, beautiful purple/black small round fruits have gray/green shoulders, 2" dia., 1-2 oz.

2007 Notes:

According to some reports the taste of this tomato improves greatly towards the end of the season, but I cannot comment on this as the summer of 2007 was not a good summer for growing this variety - it produced poorly, and fruits ripened very late, so I ended up picking most of the fruits green and ripened them indoors.

History

• Discovered by Brad Gates, Wild Boar Farms, Napa, California. It was probably an accidental cross or a sport of Cherokee Purple.
• It thought to be named after the famous periodic comet that can be seen every 75 years - Halley's Comet, but it is likely that it was named after Brad's daughter, Haley.
