History

  • First appeared in the RED section of the Seed Savers 1992 Yearbook listed by Thane H. Earle of Whitewater, Wisconsin (WI EA T) with no description given. The first SSE member who re-offered this variety in 1993 described it as "indet., regular leaf, excellent producer of large 12-18 oz fruits, smooth shoulder, small core and blossom end, great flavor." Fruit color was not indicated.
  • Sometime later (mid-90s) pink potato leaf version appeared (see Old Fashioned Red).
