History
- Introduced in 1914 by Peter Henderson and Co. Seed Company, as a golden version of Henderson's Ponderosa which was introduced in 1891.
- PI 644752. Donated to USDA in 1961 by T.W. Wood & Sons Seed Co.
- USDA Narrative:
- "110 days, like the well-known ponderosa, golden yellow color Woods 1959 Catalog p.40."
