B.C KO T

Indet., regular leaf plants with high yields of flattened and ribbed pink small to medium fruit, excellent flavor, nice balance of 'meat' and juiciness. 4-7 oz. May not be stable, and I need to grow it again to see if it was a cross. Young seedling were affected by CRUD, but recovered nicely and produced vigorous plants. Flowers were larger than on the real Eva Purple Ball plants.

Seed source:

ONT GI A 05 (Ann Gillis-Furlano, Ontario, Canada)

Year grown: 2009

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Possibly an accidental cross of Eva Purple Ball with an unknown tomato occurred on Ann Gillis-Furlano's farm in Ontario, Canada.
  • Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) received the seed labelled as Eva Purple Ball from a SSE member from Ontario Canada, Ann Gillis-Furlano, in 2005. It did not grow true to type, but produced a very nice medium sized tomatoes that are worth growing.
