History

  • Sent to Ben Quisenberry in 1976 by Milan Sodomka from Czechoslovakia. The original Czech's name was lost, likely in the attempt to make it easier to pronounce and use by English speakers. Unfortunately this happened with so many tomato varieties that came to North America from other countries, when seed savers either translate the name, or rename a variety with a foreign name.

In the 1970s, only five Czech tomato varieties were sold in shops in Czechoslovakia. Mr. Sodomka sent four of them in original bags - Olmovitz (Olomoucké low), Urbicany (Vrbičanské low), Stupice (Stupické field early) and Czech's Bush (Imun). I grew Czech's Bush in 2015 and this tomato exactly corresponded to the description of the variety with the original Czech name Imun. Vladimir

  • This variety has been offered in SSE Yearbooks since the 1980 or earlier.
  • SSE TOMATO 6.
