(C.moschata). Flattened and ribbed fruit of greenish-black color that turns tan in storage. Deep orange sweet flesh. ~5 lbs.

History

  • Japanese heirloom that was popular in the Edo period (1603-1867). It was first offered in the US by Aggelar and Musser Co., of Los Angeles, in 1922.
