History
- A hybrid variety introduced by Burpee in the late 90s. Some tomato growers speculated that it was a renamed Red Brandywine tomato, because of its remarkable resemblance.
- Burpee's catalog descriptions says:
- "Organic Gardening testers voted this the best new tomato for 1999! It's got wonderful old-fashioned flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Our breeders took a luscious and richly flavored heirloom and added modern high yields, early ripening and a more perfect shape."
