History

• According to Ken Allan Vegetable Garden website, this cultivar came out of "an accidental cross, in 1998, between Brandywine and a Sweet 100 type. The F1 generation was the size and shape of a small plum, two to three times the diameter of Sweet 100. It had the smooth rich flavour of Brandywine with the sweetness of Sweet 100; very juicy, but more meaty than Sweet 100." From this cross, Ken Allan selected for a large cherry type, similar to the original F1.
• Reinhard Kraft, Neukirchen, Germany describes it as 'a novelty from Hungary', probably because it was distributed by Geza Korbely, who in turn received the seed from Jennifer Hutson, Ontario, Canada.
