- Large 15-40 lb squash with beautiful pink/blue round flattened fruits that mature in October here in Pacific Northwest. Some fruits are pink, and some are pink spotted with blue/gray, both on the same plant, long vigorous vines. Sweet orange flesh. Large seeds.

History
- Russian origin. The original name was lost, but it could be a known Russian variety.
- Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) received the seed for this squash from a Russian immigrant woman Anna at Vancouver seed swap in April 2005. Anna said that this was a 'large pumpkin from Russia'. Anna's nickname on the Vancouver seed swap board was 'Barvinok', hence the name.
