History

• Neil Gillard from Ontario, Canada (ONT GI N) got the seed from friends at Wilber Lake, Ontario, who in turn got it from their neighbour. This variety originally came unnamed from Lazec, Macedonia, and Neil decided to name it after his niece Ashleigh.
