- indet., regular leaf, high yield of pink, small, plum-shaped fruit about 1-2 oz, 2.5-3" long and 1.5-2" in diameter. Clear skin makes it a pink tomato, despite the fact that the late fruits visually appeared more red than pink. Very thick walls, meaty flesh with little juice, good flavor. It matches the description of Aker's Plum other than the skin color.
- The seed came to me labeled as Aker's Plum, but as the fruits appeared to be pink, I added 'Pink' to the name.
Seed source:
- Linda Black of Fountain Valley, California (CA BL L) 08 / Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois (IL LO N) 04 / Carolyn Male of Salem, New York (NY MA C) 97 / Craig LeHoullier of Raleigh, North Carolina (NC LE C) 93
Year grown: 2010
Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)
History
- ?
- Possibly a mutation of the original Aker's Plum that led to the change of the skin color from yellow to clear.
