Description ''Brassica carinata''. Highland Kale is a ''Brassica carinata''. Highland Kale is a leafy green with the flavor of kale and the tenderness of mustard. It is actually neither kale or mustard, but something in between, as it is thought to be a cross between Brassica nigra and Brassica oleracea. It thrives in cool weather, but also perform very well in warmer climates. Day-length neutral. Very fast growing plants reach about 12" tall. Wonderful spicy flavor. Rich in vitamins and fibre.
