History

• Russian commercial variety, bred by Russian gardener Y.I. Panchev.
• It was first introduced to SSE by Ake Truedsson, Sweden as a red beefsteak type, which is a mistake, as the name implies that fruit color should be pink and it does not agree with the description given by Russian commercial vendors who sell this variety.
• Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus introduced a correct, original version of this variety in the Seed Savers 2007 Yearbook, which is pink and regular leafed.
• First introduced commercially in North America by Victory Seed Company in 2009.
