Ted Buila, Silverdale, Washington 09

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • A stabilized version of a European F1 hybrid bred 'to have the meatiness of a Roma but the sweet flavor of a grape tomato'.
  • The name means 'the Roman world' or the 'Roman spirit'.
  • The original seed was saved by Ted Buila of Silverdale, Washington, from a fruit purchased in Europe in 2008.
  • F2 and F3 generations grown by Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) shows no segregation, so it must be stable.
