Large vines need caging or staking, good producer of large (12-16 oz) slightly flattened deep pink globes with green shoulders. They have an excellent rich sweet flavor that to me has a different edge than other varieties.

History

  • Originally listed in the SSE 1990 Yearbook as "No Name" pink variety by Hazel Turner of Tazewell, Tennessee (TN TU H), who obtained it from "an 84 year old man who has had it for 20 years". Craig LeHoullier obtained it from Hazel Turner via an SSE yearbook transaction and decided that since it was pink fruited and particularly sweet, he would name it "Pink Sweet".
  • Two commercial sources noted for 2004 in the Garden Seed Inventory 6th edition: Sand Hill Preservation Center and Tomatofest ® Homegrown Seeds.
