History

B.C KO T

Indet., regular leaf plants with wispy looking foliage. Very beautiful fruits, dark purple/black with silver/gray/green stripes, oval-shaped, with a nipple at the blossom end. 3-5 oz. Very good flavor. Looks stable (or almost stable) in its F5 generation, as all the plants produced the same type of fruits. The only difference I noted was that some plants were jointless, and some were not. See Pearls of Wisdom

Plant 1: Indet. but rather compact plants, regular leaf, large fruit truss with beefsteak shaped fruits, good fruit set in cool and rainy June 2012. Excellent sweet and smoky flavor, even in the first fruit that I picked green and let it ripen on the counter. Fruits are irregularly shaped with ribbed shoulders, 3-6 oz, but possibly could grow larger, purple/black skin with green stripes and purple black interior, very meaty with small seed cavities and few seeds. Sliced fruits sometimes have a darker circle in the center, very beautiful and tasty.
Plant 2: Indet, regular leaf plants produce beautiful purple striped elongated plums with a tip at the blossom end, 2-4 oz. Very nice flavor.
Plant 3 Indet., regular leaf, small to medium purple fruits with green/metallic stripes, round and slightly oblate in shape and a little tip at the blossom end.
I received the original F3 seeds labelled 'Black Zebra #130', but later I found that it was referred to as 'Striped Dark Violet #130' at gardening forums, so I am assuming this is the name that was given to this segregation line by Anna Kozula.
