• F1 hybrid from China, vended by Tomato Growers Supply .
• 2006-2008 SSE Yearbooks have one listing of Golden Gem cherry tomato, which is likely an open-pollinated version of the hybrid.
• There is also an old commercial open-pollinated tomato with the same name, but larger in size, which dates back to 1899. Click here to see a page from the "Farm and Floral Guide" 1899 Catalog by L.L. May & Co. of St. Paul, Minnesota. Here is the description from the catalog:

"The finest yellow tomato. Fine flavor, beautiful color. Very productive. Without doubt the best golden yellow variety that has ever been introduced. It is a decided improvement over all other yellow kinds in both size and flavor, being larger and of a much better quality than Golden Queen, and a much better yielder. No one who has a private garden can afford to be without it. Its rich golden color makes a most beautiful contrast when sliced and placed in dishes with the red varieties. Market gardeners who grow for market alone will ...? with delight our Golden Gem as a leader of a new class of large sized yellow tomatoes."
