B.C KO T

Indet. plants with regular leaf foliage. 'Dream' it is, it is a very lovely tomato, and we are so glad we 'rescued' it from the SSE Yearbook. Not sure why it has not been re-offered by other SSE members! Very productive, early to mid-season, 5-9 oz red beefsteaks with smooth shoulders and no cracking, juicy, beautiful! Very good balanced flavor.

Seed source:

Seed Savers Heritage Farm, Decorah, Iowa (IA SSE HF) 09 / Marina Danilenko, Russia (RUSS DA M)

Year grown: 2014

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Russian origin. Unfortunately the name was translated into English, and it is now impossible to figure out the original Russian name.
  • Tatiana's note: We do not support names translation, as it leads to confusion and the same variety being offered under different names. Please always use the original variety name to avoid confusion and preserve variety's roots and history. All the translated names are considered to be 'marketing' names, and not actual variety names.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 2009 Yearbook by Seed Savers Heritage Farm, Decorah, Iowa (IA SSE HF); seeds from Marina Danilenko, Russia (RUSS DA M).
  • SSE TOMATO 2755.
  • Introduced commercially in North America by Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds in 2015.
