History
- Developed by Fred Hempel in California, released in 2011. The parents for the original cross were selected by an 8 year old son of Fred, Alex. He chose his favorite tomatoes that taste great - Maglia Rosa and Zucchero. Zucchero is another Fred's creation that has not been released.
- See the Baia Nicchia Farm blog for more details.
- The seeds of this new variety was sent to Carolyn Male for trial in 2011, and Carolyn offered it to Tomatoville members as part of her annual seed offer in January 2012.
- Parents: Maglia Rosa and Zucchero (not released)
- Introduced commercially by Seeds of Change in 2013.
- A.W. Haley offered the seeds under a 're-branded' name Blush Tiger in 2014. Blush Tiger and Blush are the same varieties.
