- indet. compact sprawling plant, regular leaf, early fruit set, ripens slightly earlier than Black Cherry, black-brown (yellow skin) cherry fruit 0.75-1" in diameter, moderately sweet and very good tasting, medium to high yield.

History
- Hybrid tomato developed from Black Cherry and offered by Burpee in 2006 (possibly in 2005) as 'Burpee Exclusive' and at a premium price, $5.25/30 seeds (2009). It is claimed to develop a unique extra sweet, 'Concord' grape flavor when refrigerated, which goes against all conventional wisdom that says "do not store tomatoes in a fridge as they'll lose flavor".

- First offered in Seed Savers 2007 Yearbook by Al Anderson of Troy, Ohio, but in Al's subsequent 2008 trials it appeared to be unstable, and he said he'd stop distributing the seeds in 2009. Unfortunately some other SSE members got hold of the seeds and re-listed in 2008 Yearbook.
- The 'open-pollinated' version of Black Pearl was also offered commercially by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds in 2009, but it was removed from the catalog shortly after as it was confirmed that the variety was not stable.
