History
- Developed by F.J. Pritchard from a cross between Marglobe and Cooper's Special.
- Introduced around 1930 for its good disease-resistance qualities under the name Scarlet Topper. Renamed in 1932 in honor of F.J. Prichard.
- United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), PI 270207. Donated to USDA in 1960 by Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center.
