This Chinese tomato produces red, two to three inch fruits. Peiping Chieh is an abundant cropper and makes loads of yum fruits for fresh use or canning.

History

  • Originated from China.
  • PI 92854. Collected in February 1931 from Beijing, China. Locality: Peiping. Habitat: the Botanical Garden.
  • The USDA description says:
"Peiping foreign eggplant, the Chinese call tomatoes foreign eggplants. Obtained at the Botanical Garden, Peiping, Feb. 24, 1931."
