Ohi:yo Yellow Pear
|Ohi:yo Yellow Pear|
|Variety type||stabilized intentional cross|
- Being descendant from a combination of heirloom tomato genetics from russia as well as those from northeastern native american selection, Ohi:yo yellow pear has a unique and impressive pedigree responsible for its excellent quality. Abundance of large yellow pears with occasional pink blush are born on medium to large potato leaf vines. Although they are a sight to behold, the flavor is the best characteristic. Ohi:yo refers to the tomato’s place of origin, because it means “beautiful waters” in Onodowaga language and is one of the names for the Allegheny river within Diondega, called Pittsburgh by Americans.
