History

  • Heirloom from Indiana, USA; dates back to the 1900s. It was discovered by John Hartman of Indianapolis, Indiana (IN HA J), who found it growing in cracks in the street in northern Indianapolis, and it was named for the creek that runs through the area. John Hartman was the first to introduce this variety to SSE in 1984. John's original descriptions said:
" Cherry sized fruits borne in clusters, pimpinellifolium leaves, small attractive leaves, fruits do not shatter."
