History

  • Craig LeHoullier of Raleigh, North Carolina, was sent this variety from Barney Laman, California, via a National Gardening Association seed swap in 1990. Barney claimed that he was given Mexico Midget by his brother, who was a truck driver, who obtained it while driving in Mexico, claiming it grew wild there.
  • One commercial source noted for 2004 in the Garden Seed Inventory 6th edition: Seed Savers Exchange , but now it is more available.
