History

  • Tatiana's TOMATObase selection from Tom Wagner's hybrid Mountain Roma X F2 Sun Sugar, developed and stabilized by Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) in 2008-2015, selected for earliness, fruit color and flavor.
  • Named by Tatiana after Justyna Kowalczyk, a famous Polish cross country skier, who has been competing and winning various prestigious ski competitions, including the Olympic Games, since 2000.
  • The original hybrid, Mountain Roma X F2 Sun Sugar was created by Tom Wagner of Washington, a private tomato and potato breeder and founder of Tater Mater Seed. See Serenity for more details on various segregation lines.
  • First introduced commercially by Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds in 2014.
