History

  • Tomato variety from China.
  • The variety name consists of four chinese characters/symbols (Chinese name.jpg):
    • 1st symbol (1st.jpg - Bai) means white
    • 2nd symbol (2nd.jpg - Guo) means fruit
    • 3rd symbol (3rd.jpg - Qiang) means strong
    • 4th symbol (4th.jpg - Feng) means abundant; plentiful; luxuriant
  • Alternatively, a combination of the first two symbols (Baiguo) means 'Ginkgo', which is a Chinese name.
  • Introduced commercially in North America by Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds in 2009.
