However, we had an exceptionally good growing climate this year with an earlier planting period and a late frost period. I planted the seeds May 24 and harvested ripe tomatoes September 1 (100 days). The largest fruit was 5 3/4" long and 13.4 ounces. Most of the others were slightly smaller than that. The tomato sauce that we made with these tomatoes tasted great. The tomatoes were heavy for their size, very meaty, with only a few seeds. The vines were very vigorous and I pruned them to 5 1/2 feet tall. The production was good for such a large tomato. I had many small clusters on my one plant.
