Nevertheless, it wasn't in the best soil, and it wasn't early or productive. The fruit was red, round, and fairly small. In subsequent years (from new seeds I saved each year), grown with drought, and then drought with black plastic, the plant was a little more productive, and lacked the zingy acidity that I loved (although it wasn't mild). It was midseason each year (not late midseason). I've read that this used to be a wide-spread variety across Texas.
