One can see the interior vascular bundles and cells through the skin unlike most other varieties of tomato fruits. Great for observing the 3D structure of a fruit. When this is looked at on the blossom end one can seed the mimic of the way the styles are clustered together at the end of a stigma. Hold a fruit up to the sun light and they allow a good deal of light to pass through. This translucent trait also carries over into F1 fruits. I have seen a few clear skinned varieties do something similar but not at the depth of this trait.
