B.C KO T

Indet., regular leaf plants. Round oblate red fruits, 4-6 oz, with smooth shoulders. Very nice old-fashioned tomato flavor.

History

  • PI 636255. NSL 27245. Donated to USDA in 1963 from Wyoming, United States.
  • This tomato dates from around 1860 and was developed by Dr. T. J. Hand by crossing a cherry tomato with a large lumpy one and was one of the first smooth round red varieties introduced in 1870.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 1995 Yearbook by Craig LeHoullier of Raleigh, North Carolina (NC LE C) and Carolyn Male of Salem, New York (NY MA C).
