* Developed in the 2008-2016 by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between [[Wilpena]] and [[Cherokee Purple]] by Patrina Nuske Small in 2008 (Plentiful Family). Named by Patrina after The Coorong, a coastal lagoon with abundant bird-life in South Australia.
* Main growers were Patrina Nuske Small and Craig LeHoullier of Raleigh, North Carolina (NC LE C), with help from Ginny Bishton and Joyce Beggs.
* The seeds for release were produced by Bill Minkey of Darien, Wisconsin (WI MI B) and [[B.C KO T|Tatiana Kouchnareva, Anmore, BC (B.C KO T)]] in 2016.
* This variety is now associated with the [http://osseeds.org/ Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI)]
