* Originated from a Brandywine Sudduth's cross with an unknown tomato that produced regular leaf plants in F1 generation and both potato and regular leaf in the F2 generation. Discovered by Ricky B. of Murphreesboro, Tennessee, who distributed F2 seeds to 10 growers via Tomatoville. Selection continued with potato leaf line as it had an excellent taste.
* 'Big Cheef' at Tomatoville (Ricky B. of Murphreesboro, Tennessee) grew Brandywine Sudduth's in 2006 and 1 seedling out of 13 came as regular leaf. The plant produced large pink tomatoes that resembled Brandywine in both the color and fruit shape. Some fruits had radial cracking, and large 'belly button'. According to 'Big Cheef', the taste was better than Brandywine.
* In the fall of 2006, Big Cheef offered F2 seeds to 10 T-ville members who volunteered to help him out with F2 growouts. The most remarkable among F2 plants were potato leaf with purple maroon fruits, and the taste comment from Bill Jeffers of Evansville, Indiana (IN JE B2) was The best tomato I've ever ate.
* Ted Corbett from Germany also grew regular leaf segregate of F2, and the results were not so good. In 2008 Ted grew more of F2 seeds and selected potato leaf seedlings. From that plant he had beautiful pink fruits up to 600 grams with very good to excellent flavor. Tatiana TOMATObase seeds are from Ted's potato leaf plant.
* Introduced commercially by Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds in 2016.
