History * Grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello, this variety was noted as early as 1731 by English botanist Stephan Switzer. * First offered in the Seed Savers 2009 Yearbook by Jakob R. Loewenberg of Shorewood, Wisconsin (WI LO J).
