  • A family heirloom from West Virginia. It was grown in a family (family name lost) in Blacksville, a town in Monongalia County, West Virginia, USA.
  • Randy Wagner, who obtained the seed of this heirloom, grew some plants and shared them with Nancy Jill Krynicki of Reedsville, West Virginia. Randy named this tomato 'Meaty Russian', as the original name was unknown. Nancy saved seeds and shared seeds with Patty Jo Brown of Maumee, Ohio. Patty sent some seeds to Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) in the fall 2013.
