Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T). Mauve - ripe fruit. 2013-10-23.

B.C KO T

Sweet bell peppers with 3-4 lobes, fruits start as creamy-white and develop some lilac tinge, then will turn purple. As pods mature, they acquire brighter yellow / orange tinge, and eventually turn dark purplish red, when fully mature. Strong and vigorous plants. Very good sweet taste. Seeds are a bit spicy. (20 seeds / packet)
I received it labelled 'Mauve Lilac Violet', but since 'Mauve' means 'purple' or 'lilac' in French, it looks like 'Lilac Violet' is not part of the original name.

Seed source:

Julien Schmit of Nancy, France 10

Year grown: 2013, 2014

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • This is likely the Lilac pepper that is available from Solana Seeds .
  • There is also Lilac F1 hybrid pepper bred by Northrup-King Seed Company.
  • It is unclear if this pepper is related to Lilac F1 hybrid (but I suspect this is a strong possibility). If they are indeed related, it is not clear how stable it is.
