Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T). Gold Stripes - ripe fruit. 2014-08-11.

B.C KO T

Indet., regular leaf plants with good foliage cover. 3-9 oz brown/black beefsteak fruits with green stripes and mahogany flesh. Very good smoky flavor. Very productive.

Seed source:

Al Anderson of Troy, Ohio (OH AN A) 08 / John Sink of Ohio (OH SI J) 02 (John Siegel, Ohio)

Year grown: 2014

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Developed by John Siegel of Covington, Ohio, from Chocolate Stripes, a cross between Schimmeig Creg and a pink beefsteak. Al Anderson of Troy, Ohio (OH AN A) said that it is a darker colored version of Chocolate Stripes, but I did not notice much difference.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 2008 Yearbook by Al Anderson of Troy, Ohio (OH AN A), who got seeds from John Siegel in 2002.
