Kelly G. - Delicata ripening on the vine. October, 2007

B.C GI K

(C. pepo) 100-120 days, lobed fruit, butter coloured skin with green stripes running down the creases of its lobes. About 10-14" long, 1-2lbs, very sweet and nutty flavour reminiscent of a butternut squash crossed with a sweet potato. In 2007 this squash was planted out late, and only two fruit came of it. In 2008, the late summer, and wet spring greatly hampered fruit production, only one fruit was produced and it then proceeded to rot due to rains. Definitely does not seem to like wet weather. Bushy growth habit.
