***NEW 2014 Release from Tomato Dwarf Project***. Indet. dwarf plants with regular rugose foliage. 3-10 oz bright golden yellow fruits with light yellow flesh. Ruffled shoulders. Very good balanced flavor. (15 seeds / packet)

The vigorous dwarf regular leaf plants are among the taller growing of the dwarfs. Producing a good yield of medium to medium large sized (6-12 ounces) oblate bright yellow tomatoes, with occasional lobing, Banksia Queen has delicious juicy pale yellow flesh with a good balance of sweet and tart.

History

  • Developed in the 2009-2014 by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between Golden Dwarf Champion and Elbe. Selected by Patrina Nuske Small in Australia in F2 generation (2009). Named by Patrina after an Australian native flower species Banksia.
  • Stabilization was the collaborative work of Patrina Nuske Small, Jon Schmuck, Gary Woods, Susan Oliverson, Bill Yoger, Susan Dzejachok, Danny Lee Turner, Shawn Connant, and Craig LeHoullier.
  • Released in 2014 in Southern Hemisphere.
